At Westlands Angling we welcome conscientious anglers, however for the safety of the fish, environment and of course the angler we have a few common sense rules that will help everyone enjoy the fishery.

Pleasure & Match Anglers

  • Keepnets in matches only - no fish over 10lb in keepnets
  • Barbless hooks only
  • Remember to use your landing net
  • Don’t throw unused bait into the water
  • Luncheon meat in moderation
  • No cat or dog meat
  • Groundbait by pole cup or feeder only

Carp Anglers

  • A large carp un-hooking mat should be used at all times
  • Barbless hooks only and all carp should be treated with Klinik
  • No nuts or particles unless prepared by a recognised bait manufacturer
  • No open fires
  • No pets
  • No bait boats

Other General Rules

  • All nets must be dipped
  • Take all rubbish home
  • No tins by the water’s edge
  • No pets unless by prior arrangement
  • No trout or high oil pellets
  • No artificial baits
  • No fixed rigs

Our aim is for everybody to enjoy the facilities so anyone who is found to be disruptive will be politely asked to leave.

Westlands Angling will not accept responsibility for personal injury, damage or loss of property whilst visiting the fishery.
